Online Learning

The changing nature of students such as the so-called digital natives demand the latest types of learning experiences. Digital natives prefer digital resources over print in these forms*:

  • receiving information quickly and from multiple resources
  • parallel processing and multitasking
  • processing pictures, sounds, and video before text
  • random access to hyperlinked multimedia information
  • interacting and networking simultaneously with many others

Faculty who are interested in creating course-based websites for blended classes have a variety of options to facilitate web design for novice and advanced users. Blackboard course management software is designed to help you create course-based websites without having to learn HTML coding or WYSIWYG web editing. Blackboard’s many tools can be used to provide students with course documents, foster communication between class members, remind students of upcoming exams and assignments, keep up with and display students’ attendance, grades and more.

Basic and advanced Blackboard workshops are scheduled throughout the term.
